January - 2018 Whiskey Tastings
Invergordon 42 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Invergordon 42yo TBWC Bottling Note
Marvellous single grain from the Invergordon distillery, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company following a generous 42 year-long maturation. No matter how old the whisky is and how many batches of Invergordon those Boutique-y chaps bottle, they still haven't quite got the different between "Coffey" (as in the Coffey still) and "coffee" (the delicious hot beverage).

Batch 15 is a release of 665 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Mango and papaya fruitiness. Milk bottle sweeties, chocolate buttons and charred oak. A hint of Ready Salted crisps.
Palate: Fried plantain, apple skins, chilli chocolate. Rich notes of old leather and clove stick around on the mid-palate.
Finish: Brandy snaps, desiccated coconut and dark chocolate mousse.

Ardbeg 10 Year Old
Ardbeg 10 Year Old Bottling Note
Jim Murray's 2008 World Whisky of the Year! When Ardbeg 10 was released it was the first expression from the distillery not to be chill-filtered. It's a true classic from Islay, and a must have for any fan of single malt whisky.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A ridge of vanilla leads to mountain of peat capped with citrus fruits and circled by clouds of sea spray.

Palate: Sweet vanilla counterbalanced with lemon and lime followed by that surging Ardbeg smoke that we all know and love.

Finish: Long and glorious; sea salted caramel and beach bonfire smoke.

Overall: Precise balance, big smoke and non-chill filtered. This is why this is such a famous dram
